Tanner's First Beach Trip

We were so excited to get to go to the beach last weekend. I called Jonathan at work on Friday and told him I found a great deal on a room at a resort in Myrtle Beach so we left Saturday and came back Monday. It was a very short trip but nice to just get away and also for Tanner to have his first beach experience! :)

I love his little feet :)

These were the smallest baby sunglasses they make but they were still huge! Oh well, I guess we can use them for the next couple of years :)

Tanner's 1st Month

Wow, I'm horrible about updating our blog, especially about our new baby boy! My little man is a month old today and he has already grown so much. At birth he weighed 8lbs 8ozs and was 21 1/2 inches, at his 1 month appointment (which was really at 3 weeks) he weighed 9lbs 3ozs and was 22 inches. My little man now weighs a little over 10 lbs! Wow!!! He had little skinny long legs when he was born but now he's turning into a chunky monkey! Thus, he now has his nickname, "Squish" :) I'm sure he will hate it when he's older but I'll keep it just for now.

Here are a few things about Tanner:

*Tanner is sooooo strong! Dr. Kimball even commented how strong he was. He raises all the way up and turns his head from side to side all on his own. He has been doing that since he was a little over a week old.
*Tanner loves music, everyday we sing and do little movements to songs (he especially loves his veggietales cd).
*Tanner loves to be read to.
*Tanner loves to look at the color gold and lights.
*Tanner is starting to get the hang of his Babywise routine and is sleeping sometimes 5-6hr stretches at night and he's starting to go down for his naps pretty well now. Yay Tanner!!!

Tanner is here!!!

On May 13th, we welcomed the newest member of our family :) Tanner Owen. He weighed 8lbs 8ozs and was 21 1/2 inches long. We had planned on doing natural childbirth although we were being induced because of his size. We went in at 12:05am Thursday morning and they started the pitocin. I labored naturally for over 16hours, I was doing so good! My contractions were 1-11/2 mins apart and looked like rocky mountain peaks on the monitor but I hadn't progressed. I knew I was going to have to have a c-section so I went ahead and got an epidural and after 19 hours Tanner was born. :) He came out screaming, they could hear him through the operating room doors so needless to say he has a set of lungs!
Parenthood is something that noone can ever express in words. There is such a flood of emotions that comes with this new chapter in life ranging from unexplainable joy to sometimes feeling just plain overwhelmed but I wouldn't change it for the world. Being a mother is amazing and I feel truly blessed that God has given us this amazing miracle of life!
Here are a few pictures of our new little guy, I'm in love! :)

Finally... A new post!

I have been horrible about posting on here, especially about my pregnancy! Jonathan and I are growing more excited by the day, only a few more weeks till we hold our little man! Things have been so smooth, it's of course difficult to sleep at times due to lack of comfort but I wouldn't trade it for the world. We feel so blessed that God has blessed us with this little boy. :)
We have been trying to prepare his room and still have so much to do! We don't even have his bedding yet because it is so popular Babiesrus has a waiting list! :( I know everything will work out though!

Today I actually went to the doctor to have my last ultrasound to estimate birth weight, currently he weighs about 6pds 6 ozs and they estimate his birth weight to be between 8 and 8 1/2 pounds. He's a big boy, but not too big :) Also, I am beginning to progress and am about 1 cm dilated already! I'm excited for him to come, but I still have a few concerts I need to get through at school so I'm hoping he'll at least hold out until the evening of May 7th cause then I will be done with everything at school!
With all the excitement of becoming new parents there are also fears too, so please keep us in your prayers for the next few weeks as we prepare for our new addition! :) I will post more pictures soon of his room and some of the showers I have had, until then... The Lord Bless You and Keep You!
